Those seeking justice have to collect compulsory ‘digital entry pass’ to enter the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court from February 1 this year. Besides, no litigant can even take a stand in the Appellate Division’s courtrooms or the places adjacent to those courtrooms without an ‘entry pass’.

Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, on Wednesday issued a notification to this effect under the direction of Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.

Mentioning the development of the security system, the notification said, “A pass system has been introduced to enter the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Interested justice-seeking people in entering the Appellate Division of the SC can collect the 'digital entry pass' by providing the necessary information including date of entry and case number through Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop or Desktop computer following the attached usage rules.”

The litigant can be able to enter the Appellate Division’s courtrooms or the places adjacent to those courtrooms by using this digital pass or the print copy of that.

Earlier on January 16 this year, the Chief Justice issued 11-point directives to tighten the security system of all the lower courts across the country. Consolidating the boundary wall of subordinate courts, installation of CC cameras inside and outside the courts, round-the-clock vigilance with guards and ensuring adequate police guarding during the judicial works are among the directives.
