Detective Branch (DB) of police on Wednesday arrested a couple along with contraband yaba tablets and heroin from the capital’s Turag Police Station area.
“We arrested a couple Md Joynal, 58, and his wife Nazma Begum, 38, along with 1,200 contraband yaba tablets and 480 grams brown powder (known as heroin) from Baunia Battala area under Turag Police Station around 6:45 pm on Wednesday,” said a DB official.
During preliminary interrogation, both the arrestees confessed their link to drug peddling saying that they have long been involved in the misdeed, said a BSS report.
A case was lodged against the couple with Turag Police Station to this end.
