A preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized 40 gold bars weighing around 8.64 kg from an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday.
Based on secret information, officials of the preventive team of Dhaka Customs House took position at different points at the airport.
Sajjad Hossain, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Customs House ,said customs intelligence officials recovered the gold bars hidden underneath a seat of Biman flight BG0 48 that arrived from Dubai at 6:10am.
Legal action has been taken under the Customs Act in this regard, he added, reports UNB.
