A woman was killed in a road accident on VIP road near Hill View Hospital under sadar upazila of Bandarban town on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Krishna De, 55, wife of hotel owner Babu De of Roangchhori Bus stand area of the district.
Police said the accident occurred when a stone-laden truck ran over Krishna in the area around 10 am as she was visiting her grandson in the Hill View Hospital.
She died on the spot. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue.
Police detained the truck but its driver managed to flee, reports BSS.
A case was filed in this connection.
