Prof Zahir Raihan, a teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) has been allegedly assaulted by a group of interns at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Wednesday night.
The teacher of department of Law, who went to visit a patient at RMCH, accused the interns of assaulting him physically after he went into an altercation with a female intern around 11 am.
A local news agency reports quoting Raihan that he was forcefully taken into a room and beaten up by them.
Meanwhile, the students of Law department of Rajshahi University staged demonstrations on the campus on Thursday morning protesting the incident.
