Police arrested 39 leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) while they were allegedly planning sabotage at the house of a BNP central leader in Kushtia on Friday night.
JCD Kushtia district unit president Mahfuzur Rahman Mithun, general secretary SR Shipon, joint secretary Rakibul Islam Rabbi and organising secretary Rokonuzzaman Russel were among the arrestees.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of police from Kushtia Model Police Station and detectives conducted a drive at the house of Barrister Ragib Rouf Choudhury, a member of BNP's executive committee, around 8:00pm and arrested them along with explosives, said Kushtia Model Police Station office in charge (OC) Obidur Rahman, reports UNB.
