A person was killed in a road accident in Pajia Bazar area under Keshabpur Upazila of Jessore on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam (30), son of Kobad Ali of Sagordattakathi village in the upazila, reports UNB.
The accident occurred in the area when a speedy truck rammed into Islam in front of Sagor rice mill around 9:45 last night, leaving him dead on the spot, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Keshabpur Police Station Shajahan Ahmed.
Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene, he added.
A case was filed in this connection.
