Dhaka's train communications with northern and southern districts have resumed five hours after a freight train derailed in Pabna.

Around 6am on Friday, two carriages of the train went off the tracks near Pabna’s Bhangura Railway Station.

The carriages were fixed around 11am, when the freight train started for its destination, said Mehedi Al-Masud, assistant booking in-charge at Bhangura Railway Station, according to bdnews24.

Dhaka-bound Silk City Express from Rajshahi had to remain stalled for several hours near a railway station in Pabna's Chatmohar due to the derailment.
