An orphaned Garo girl has allegedly been raped by a local youth after being abducted from Sherpur municipality area.
Police said Rocky Miah, 22, an alleged drug dealer and son of Ratan Miah of Kacharipura village, used to harass the Class-VII girl of Kathgarh Kasba area on her way to and from her educational institution.
On Tuesday, Rocky and his sister Ria Akhter abducted her and took her to capital Dhaka. Rocky raped the girl throughout the night confining her to a house at Biswa Road Kazibari.
A day after the incident, victim was brought back from Dhaka and admitted to Sherpur Sadar Hospital as she felt ill following excessive bleeding, reports UNB.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station M Nazrul Islam said a case was filed against Rocky on Thursday night and said they were trying to arrest the culprit.
