A cylinder of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw exploded after the vehicle crashed into a tree on Sonapur-Char Alexander road in Companir Hat area of Noakhali Sadar upazila on Sunday morning, leaving two people dead and another injured.
The deceased could not be identified immediately, says a UNB report.
Officer-in-Charge of Sudhram Model Police Station, Anwar Hossain said the incident occured around 6am when the Sonapur-bound auto-rickshaw hit the roadside tree after its driver lost control over the wheel.
Later, the cylinder went off leaving one dead on the spot and two injured.
One of the injured died on the way to hospital.
