A motorcyclist has died after his vehicle was rammed by a bus in Dhaka’s Shewrapara.
The accident occurred in front of the Modern Wood Furniture store in West Shewrapara at around 10:15am on Monday, said Mirpur Police OC Dadan Fakir.
The victim has been identified as Nurul Islam Shanto. He was a motor mechanic by trade and lived in the Mogbazar area, bdnews24.com reported.
According to the OC, Shanto was thrown from his motorcycle and critically injured when a Tetulia Paribahan bus rammed it from behind.
He was recovered and taken to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, popularly known as Pongu Hospital in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, where doctors on duty declared him dead.
Police seized the bus and detained the driver, identified as Saiful, following the accident.
