A pregnant housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband in Boro Achra village of Benapole port area on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Sharmin Khatun, 25, wife of Nazmul of the village.
Nazmul developed an extra marital relationship with his neighbour after marriage and the couple often engaged in quarrel over the issue, said police quoting villagers.
On Sunday, the couple locked into an altercation over the issue and at one stage Nazmul strangled Sharmin to death, reports UNB.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Jashore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
