The number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Bangladesh surged to 240,746 on Sunday as the country registered 886 fresh cases testing only 3,684 samples in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 22 more people died from Covid-19 during the period. With the latest, the death toll from the lethal disease now stands at 3,154.
Nasima Sultana, additional director general (admin) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the information while briefing the media live on the daily Covid-19 bulletin.
Besides, the recovery count also reached 136,839 after 586 patients were recovered during the period under review.
Globally, 18,042,795 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 689,164 people died as of Sunday noon, according to the worldometer.
Of them, 6,012,752 are currently being treated with 65,777 remain in serious or critical condition.
So far, 11,340,879 people have recovered.
