Bangladesh may see the end of 97 per cent of the coronavirus cases by May 12 this year, according to a prediction made by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Data Driven Innovation Lab.

It also said that the country is likely to be 100 per cent free of coronavirus cases by June 17 this year.

In an update as on April 27, or Monday, the lab predicted that 97 per cent of the total expected pandemic cases will be ended by May 29 this year globally.

Moreover, the world is likely to be free of virus cases on November 27 this year, according to the prediction.

Regarding the predictions, the SUTD Data Driven Innovation Lab said that any prediction is uncertain by nature and it is important to take it with caution.

“Overly optimism based on some predicted end dates is dangerous because it may loosen our disciplines and controls and cause the turnaround of the virus and infection, and must be avoided,” it added.
