Three more die from COVID-19 in BD; 58 new cases

Three more people in Bangladesh have died from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 58 tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, health minister Zahid Maleque said during an online briefing on Saturday.

With the latest, the number of confirmed cases in the country now reaches 482, while the death toll stands at 30.

Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) director Meerjady Sabrina Flora said the fresh coronavirus cases were found after testing 954 samples.

Of the new cases, 48 male and 10 female, she said, while, of the new casualties, one is from Dhaka and the rest two from outside the capital.

According to the daily health bulletin, three more patients were discharged from hospital during the same period under review, taking the tally of recovered patients to 36.

Earlier on Friday, six people died and 94 tested positive for the virus.
