BAF aircraft brings back 70 Bangladeshis from Maldives

An aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force returned to Bangladesh on Tuesday with 70 Bangladeshi nationals residing in Maldives.

The mission consisting of a 15 BAF aircrew was led by Group Captain Md Enamul Haque, GUP, aowc, psc of Bangladesh Air Force, said an ISPR release.

In compliance with the policies published by the government, Bangladesh Armed Forces is conducting various activities under the direction of prime minister to prevent coronavirus.

In line with this, a C-130J transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force transported 71 Maldivians from Dhaka to Maldives as a sign of friendship on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh.

Later, on the return flight, 70 Bangladeshi expatriates living legally in the Maldives returned home, the release added.

According to the decision of the government of Bangladesh, those migrants who are not infected with COVID-19 can return to Bangladesh only after being confirmed by proper medical check-up.

The C-130J transport aircraft left Dhaka for Maldives on Monday with 71 Maldivians and a 10 member Armed Forces Medical Team for providing COVID-19 related treatment to Bangladeshi nationals in Maldives.
