Authorities sue six BSMRSTU students over ragging
They were expelled for life from the university over the Feb 2 incident

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) authorities filed a case against six students, who had been expelled for life for ragging two first-year students.
Assistant Proctor Dr Nazmul Haque filed the case at Sadar Police Station under the Digital Security Act on Tuesday night, said Officer-in-Charge Md Monirul Islam.
The accused are - Shipon Ahmed, Shahin Mia, Nadim Islam, Hridoy Kumar Dhar, Turzo Hawladar and Ashiquzzaman Limon. They were second-year students of electronics and telecommunication engineering department, as per a UNB report.
BSMRSTU authorities expelled them on Monday after an investigation found that they had tortured two first-year agriculture department students physically and mentally on February 2.
A video footage of the ragging went viral on Facebook, triggering much criticism from various quarters and demands for the punishment of the accused.
