As many as 396 children were killed in the country between January and October of the current calendar year, according to a local independent rights and legal aid body.
Of the victims, 37 children were killed after being raped during the period, according to the report of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
Of the total victims, 78 were aged between 7 to 12 years old while and 75 were aged below 6, the ASK’s report said.
Nine committed suicide after being raped during the time, it said, adding that 185 cases were filed in connection with the incidents.
