Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged arms trader along with a pistol and bullets from Shahapur Munshipara village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on early Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Babu (30), son of Sayedur Rahman, hailing from Shahapur Munshipara village of Shibganj upazila, a news agency reported.
Squadron leader Md Sayeed Abdulalh Al-Murad, commanding officer of RAB-5 Chapainawabgnaj camp, said sensing presence of a patrol team of RAB in the area Babu tried to flee.
The elite force members chased him and arrested him along with one pistol, one magazine and four rounds of bullet.
During primary interrogation, Babu admitted that he had long been involved in arms trading, the RAB commander added.
A case was filed with Shibganj police station.
