All ruling Awami League chairmen candidates in Bagerhat won in Sunday's upazila polls.
Six of them were elected unopposed and three others, who contested the polls, also emerged victorious.
The chairmen-elect are - Swapan Kumar Das (Fakirhat), Shahinul Alam Sana (Mollahat), Shah-i-Alam Bachchu (Morrelganj), Sardar Nasir Uddin (Sadar), SM Mahfuzur Rahman (Kachua), Abu Taher Hawladar (Mongla), Ashok Kumar Boral (Chitalmari), Sheikh Moazzem Hossain (Rampal) and Kamal Uddin Akon (Sharankhola).
Bagerhat's additional deputy commissioner, returning officers and the district's election officers announced the results around 10:30pm on Sunday, reports UNB.
