43 rivers mark rise, 34 record falls

Water levels in 43 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 34 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, eight are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Saturday.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger level.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in falling trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers are in steady state which may continue in next 48 hours.

Due to Cyclonic storm Titli, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in next 48 hours over the North-eastern, Middle, South-eastern and coastal part of Bangladesh. The water level of the rivers in these areas may rise abruptly, BSS reports.

A total of 124 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6:00 am today at Bandarban, 120 mm at Teknaf, 98 mm at Moulvibazar, 85 mm at Cox’s Bazar, 82 mm at Kamalganj, 78 mm at Lama, 77 mm at Chattogram, 70 mm at Dakhinbag and Habiganj and 42 mm at Sherpur.
