Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Thursday filed 2,429 cases on charges of traffic rule violation.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 825,650 as fine, according to an official release.
As many as 231 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 79 other cases for using hydraulic horn, six for using hotter and beckon light and four others for using tinted glass.
Some 30 cases, including 10 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 28 vehicles and wrecked 344 others.
A total of 963 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 36 others were seized for the traffic rule violations, reports BSS.
