The Election Commission (EC) is going to deploy 20 judicial magistrates to hold the upcoming polls of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) scheduled for January 27.
The magistrates will discharge their duties from January 25 to January 29.
The magistrates are going to be deployed from the districts of Chattogram division.
Deputy Secretary of EC Afroza Sheuli issued a circular on Wednesday in this regard.
Meanwhile, Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has intensified the patrolling and deployed additional numbers of police in the city.
Police have already set up huge check posts here and there in the city and they are checking the vehicles.
Around 100 incidents of clashes took place during the campaigns of Awami League leaning mayoral and ward councilor candidates from Jan 08 till Wednesday.
Commissioner of CMP Saleh Mohammed Tanvir held meetings with top officials of CMP and directed them to maintain law and order for CCC polls.
