A total of 1,642 Rohingya refugees have started their journey from the Chittagong Boat Club Jetty to Bhasan Char at 10.20 am on Friday. Five ships of the Bangladesh Navy are carrying them to their new address.

The government has adopted a plan to relocate one hundred thousand Rohingya refugees from Coxs Bazar to Bhasan Char, a remote island on the Bay of Bengal, near the Noakhali coast.
