10 hurt as RMG workers protest in Gazipur

The workers of a garment factory, who went on strike few days back for salary hike, went on a rampage seeing their factory shut at Gazipur on Sunday.

Police said the workers of NAZ Limited factory in Rajendrapur of Sadar upazila went on work abstention to press home their demand.

The authorities concerned suspended production of the factory for the day apprehending further trouble.

Observing the factory gates shut at around 8:00am, the workers got furious and staged demonstrations in front of the plant.

They also torched a motorbike, vandalised a covered van and a CNG run auto-rickshaw, reports UNB.

On information, police went to the spot and charged baton and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse them, leaving ten people injured.
