A van driver was found dead in a canal at Haridah village in Mollahat upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, 40, son of Sona Mia Sheikh of the area, reports UNB.
Kazi Golam Kabir, officer-in-charge of Mollahat Police Station, said being informed by locals, police retrieved the floating body of Hafizur around 10:00 am and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital.
A case was filed in this regard.
