Banks asked to freeze accounts of Nasrul Hamid, Shamim Osman and Biplab Kumar

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked all the banks and financial institutions to freeze the accounts of former state minister for power Nasrul Hamid and former Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman, alongside those of their family members.
The BFIU issued the directive on Tuesday, instructing banks and FIs to block transactions through the accounts of Nasrul, his wife, children and Shamim, his wife Lipi Begum, brother Salim Osman, his wife, and their children for 30 days.
In another directive, the intelligence agency ordered banks to freeze the accounts of joint commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Biplab Kumar Sarkar for a month.
