Students make business ideas that empowers

The 'BIZ Innovision 2020'-- a business idea competition by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Club (BUET EDC) and Job Market BD has been successfully organised. It is a competition where participants introduce their creative and sustainable business ideas. "Business that Empowers" is the theme for this year's event conveying the message to the responsible citizens of tomorrow to think with empathy, work with an aim of welfare and empowering women and minorities.

The prime goal of the event is to encourage the youths to develop innovative and entrepreneurial mindset through brainstorming and discovering the next generation leaders inside them. The process also motivates the young participants to be self-resilient, determined and ready to face challenges. The event was conducted online this year due to safety issues.

The grand finale was held on November 13, 2020. 'Team Kacchi' from BUET became the champion and took home Tk 20,000 as the prize money while 'Team Valkyrie' from North South University (NSU) and 'Team Navigators' from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) secured the first and second runner-up positions winning Tk 15,000 and Tk 10,000 respectively.

"Biz Innovision has provided a wonderful platform to develop and present a socially driven business idea," said Nafisa Islam from Team Kacchi on how the event helped them in developing and improvising an insight into a business idea. Same tone was reiterated by Atika Bashashat Tanzeem, the president of BUET EDC. "The club is focused on nurturing leadership and communication skills of the students through which the future leaders will come out from this platform," she added on EDC's prime goal.
