The Bit Arena is one of the biggest and most awaited national events on robotics. After being sidelined by the pandemic, the North South Computer and Engineering Club is reintroducing the 'NSU Bit Arena 2022' for the first time in five years. Here, the NSU students and students from Bangladesh can demonstrate their enthusiasm and passion for robotics.
The segments of the Bit Arena include Robo Wars, Robo Soccer, Boat Race, and Robo Race, and this year it is also highlighting the ESports Championship, specifically Valorant Lan Tournament. This year's event will be five- day long starting from November 10 to 15. Here is a list of some of the segments that will take place.
Robo Race will be launched on November 10 at NSU Plaza Area Center. The aim of the event is to promote the 'Learn with Fun' culture and help the automotive engineering sector. Each team is expected to learn about various aspects of automobiles during this segment. The fun part of the event is when a vehicle made by each team will race on different adventure tracks prepared on the NSU campus. A team can have a maximum number of four members from the same institution.
Another race segment, Boat Race, will be kicked off on November 10 at NSU Plaza Area. Here, two teams will compete in a boat race through the many obstacles designed for them. Similar to the robo-race rules, the team can have a maximum of four members and the boat has to be run with its own power supply. Teams will go head to head in determining which team's boat is faster and better.
One of the most famous segments when it comes to Robo sports is Robo Soccer. This will kick off on November 12 at NSU Stage Area. This will be an interactive game in which specialised autonomous and mobile robots interact to play soccer variants. Two teams will bring in their respective robots and aim to score goals past the opposing robots. The match will be 10 minutes long with 5-minute halves and a 1-minute break between the break. The tournament aims at promoting robotics and AI research and some of the renowned organised competitions include the Robo Cup and FIRA tournaments.
Robo Wars will be held on November 13. This segment will contain the sport of building a wirelessly controlled machine to disfigure, disable, or ring out an opponent. Over a couple of years, Robo wars have been extremely popular all over the world. This segment at "Bit Arena 2022" is expected to draw in the biggest crowd.
Lastly, the event is going to feature one of the popular games in recent years, the Valorant LAN tournament. The date, time, and rules for this event have not been finalised yet. With so many exciting events ready to be launched, the audience can be expected to witness a spectacle at North South University from November 10.
