International business idea competition Hult Prize Impact Summit-2021 Shenzhen was held successfully from April 21 to 23 through offline and online webinars.
Two teams from Bangladesh got an opportunity to participate in the summit, according to a press release.
The event was hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and co-organised by the Hult Prize Foundation and the Center for Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (CIDE).
The Hult Prize is jointly promoted by the United Nations and the Hult International Business School. It is called the "Nobel Prize for Students".
As many as 27 teams from 16 universities around the world participated in this summit.
The teams collided ideas and creativity around the theme of "Food for Good, Entrepreneurship Plan for Sustainable Development." Participants were committed to leading advanced business models with careful and open thinking to solve severe social problems.
The finals were simultaneously broadcast live on the Tencent live broadcast platform, and more than 530,000 people watched the grand finals online simultaneously.
The competition part of the regional summit was divided into two levels, preliminary and final.
12 judges selected 6 out of 27 preliminary competition teams to enter the finals.
In the final round, 6 teams competed and showed their talent. The teams participating in the finals came from the Tachu team from Varendra University in Bangladesh, the Armada team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), the Coco Fruit team from Tsinghua University, the green savior team from Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool, the ReKOPI team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and the Ikigai team from the University of International Business and Economics.
After careful and intense discussion by the jury team, the ReKOPI team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) finally stood out and won the competition. Becoming the ultimate winner of the Hult Prize summit final, they will receive 36,000 RMB to landing the project as support funds.
The 6 participating teams will all be provided with an entrepreneurial office in Shenzhen provided by the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) to encourage these outstanding teams to continue to implement their own social innovation plans with viable business models.
Vice President of Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Prof. Gu Yang, founder and CEO of the Hult Prize Foundation Ahmad Ashkar, Senior Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management Prof. Michael Ferguson, Global Operations Associate of the Hult Prize Foundation Belen Marin and Community Builder of Hult Prize in China Sharon Fu delivered addresses and welcomed the innovative teams from all over the world.
According to the press release, the Hult Prize Foundation is based on a million-dollar ultimate bonus. It has provided a lot of support and training to more than 2.1 million students around the world to cultivate their leadership and innovative thinking.
