For the second year in a row, the nation's largest Investment Strategy competition "Capitalizer'22" is being solely sponsored by MetLife. BUP Finance Society (BUPFS) is organising its prestigious flagship event on a nationwide scale for the third time.
Last year, at "MetLife presents Capitalizer'21", more than 150 teams from numerous private and public universities across the country took part. With tremendous enthusiasm, the competition itself has completed an incredibly progressive journey since its inception in 2018.
This year, there will be three rounds throughout the event. The first round, 'Crack the Case', is an online case-solving round where the participants will submit their case solution online, utilising their basic mathematical merit. In the second round, 'Deal behind the Bars', participants will showcase their financial skills by forecasting, analysing, and ensuring the sustainability of a given venture. This round includes an online presence along with the case submission. The first two rounds will take place respectively from November 04 and 06, and November 07 to 11. To aid the contestants' transition into the competition, two online workshops will take place by acknowledged trainers.
The prize pool for the contest is valued at Tk 0.2 million in total. The winning team will receive Tk 0.1 million, while the teams who placed first and second runner-up will get Tk 60,000 and Tk 40,000 respectively. Participants are fortunate to grab an excellent opportunity and apply for the Professional Actuarial Study Scholarship programme offered by MetLife. Teams of three to four participants must be formed. To make the competition more intriguing and challenging, this year formation of cross-university teams is allowed.
The event's grand finale drops the curtain in December. The final venue is kept a surprise for the participants. A spirited message from the moderator of BUPFS, Assistant Professor Farhana Yasmin, "Since inception BUP Finance Society aimed to create a nurturing space, where impressionable young minds can explore the versatile world of Investment and Financial decisions. To realize that vision, Capitalizer connects young enthusiasts all over the nation and empowers their ambitious future," making the event more intense.

"The real-life challenges drive them to push their boundaries and get a better sense of intense numerical aptitude," he added hoping that this event will be both a competitive and spectacular one.
This year, "MetLife presents Capitalizer'22" promises exciting and dynamic challenges, where participants will tackle thrilling real-life investment strategy situations. Contestants will get to demonstrate their analytical and mathematical abilities, as well as add new success to their portfolios.
