The Global Competitiveness Report 2017-2018 (GCR 2017-18) and the findings of the Bangladesh Business Environment Study 2017 will be presented by Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) on Wednesday.
The Global Competitiveness Report is the flagship publication of the World Economic Forum (WEF) where CPD is the partner organisation which conducts the Bangladesh chapter of the study. The Global Competitiveness Report 2017-18 will provide relative rankings of over 140 countries based on the perception of leading entrepreneurs and business executives taking part in the surveys conducted in the aforesaid countries. The perception survey covers a broad range of issues including macroeconomic environment, infrastructure development, institutions, technical readiness, labour market efficiency and financial market development. The report will rank Bangladesh in view of its preference of a comparative setting based on information for the period January-December, 2016.
Bangladesh Business Environment Study, on the other hand, is an annual exercise undertaken by the CPD, this year’s being the seventeenth of its kind. It shows perception of the entrepreneurs and businessmen of the country regarding contemporary issues and concerns, related to Bangladesh economy, said a statement.
