Bangladesh Bank will issue new Tk 500 banknotes signed by its Governor, Abdur Rouf Talukder, today (Monday).
The new notes will be available at the Bangladesh Bank head office today while at the other offices of the bank across the country later, said a press release of the central bank.
The colour, size, watermark, design, and other security features of the new notes will be identical to those of the notes currently in circulation, it said.
Alongside the newly printed notes, the existing notes will continue to be valid notes at the same time, it added.
