Chinese President Xi Jinping met US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Friday.
The meeting was held after high-level negotiations to striked a trade deal ahead of a March 1 deadline, reports Reuters.
A photograph distributed via a pool of foreign media showed that Xi shakes hands with Lighthizer, as Mnuchin stands behind his colleague.
