Govt releases cash subsidy of Tk 11.25b for exporters

The government has released the third installment of cash incentive amounting to Tk 11.25 billion for disbursement among the exporters for the fiscal year (FY) 2018-19.

The money will be distributed among the exporters for the January-March period of 2019, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

Of the amount, the jute and jute products subsector will get Tk 1.25 billion and the other sectors Tk 10 billion.

For the current FY, the government decided to release a total of Tk 45 billion as cash incentive to the exporters.

At present, a total of 36 export-oriented sectors including apparel manufacturing, frozen foods and fish, leather products, agro products and agro-processing industry, are receiving cash incentive on their export earnings.
