A total of 19,916 auto-rickshaws were registered with across the country in the first eight months of the current calendar year, according to transport regulator.
Of them, 6,684 got registration during January-August 2019 in Dhaka, as per Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) data.
A total of 21,638 auto-rickshaws were registered alone in 2018 while it was 9,168 in 2017, the BRTA data showed.
