‘Equilibrium’ champions in BICM contest

Equilibrium, a team of students from finance department at Dhaka University, became champions in the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) Case Competition titled Invest Mastros.

Fantastic 4, a team of business school at BRAC University, emerged as the first runner-up in the contest that began in the first week of October.

Team Consensus, a team from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Dhaka University, stood the second runner-up.

The champion was awarded Tk 100,000, the first runner-up Tk 50,000 and the second runner-up Tk 30,000.

The members of the teams will also avail internship facility along with attending a certificate course for free at the BICM.

Some 202 teams were registered in the country's first-ever inter-university case competition.

The names of the winners were announced at a gala programme organised at a city hotel on Tuesday.

MA Mannan, state minister for finance and planning, attended the event as the chief guest and Md Asadul Islam, secretary of financial institution division, as the special guest.

Prof Dr M Khairul Hossain, chairman of the securities regulator-Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission-presided over the programme.

BICM executive president Abdul Hannan Zoarder made an address of welcome at the function.

Dhaka Stock Exchange managing director KAM Majedur Rahman and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh managing director Kazi Sanaul Hoq also spoke.

A cultural show was also staged at the event.
