Train communications on Naogaon route was suspended on Friday following derailment of a compartment in Shahagola area of Atrai upazila.
Saiful Islam, station master of Ahsanganj Rail Station, said a bogie of Rangpur Express coming from Dhaka veered off the tracks at around 4:00 am have caused the derailment.
Communication between the country's southern and northern regions has been halted since, UNB reported.
Authorities have sent a relief train there to fix it within the shortest possible time.
