Rivals kill teenage boy over gambling in Brahmanbaria

A teenage boy was hacked to death by his rivals following previous enmity over gambling at Shahbazpur village in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria on Thursday night.

The dead boy was identified as Shakib, 16 of the village.

Mafizuddin, officer-in-charge of Sarail Police Station, said Tarek, Shakib and Shihab locked into an altercation over gambling in a village fair.

At one stage, Tarek hit Shakib with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot, as per a UNB report.

On information, police recovered the body and arrested Tarek in this connection.
