25 students get bail

25 students, who were arrested in different cases during the protests for safe roads, have secured bail.

Separate courts in Dhaka granted their bail on Sunday after hearing separate bail petitions, reports UNB.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddiqi granted bail to 15 students.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Sarafuzzaman Ansari granted bail to nine students.

One student received bail order from Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman Hero.

The students were accused in separate cases filed with Badda Police Station, Bhatara Police Station and Dhanmondi Police Station.

14 students were arrested in a case filed with Badda Police Station. Among them, 10 got bail on Sunday.

Eight students were arrested in a case filed with Bhatara Police Station and six students secured bail among them.

Remaining nine students, arrested in three separate cases filed with Dhanmondi Police Station, received bail order.

Earlier, protests flared up across Bangladesh when two college students were crushed under the wheels of a bus in Dhaka city's Kurmitola area on July 29.

Police detained 99 people, including 52 students, in 51 cases over various allegations following the protests.

Among the detained 52 students, lawyers of 25 students filed the bail petitions on Sunday.

Those secured bail on Sunday are: Mashad Mortuza Bin Ahad, Sakhawat Hossain Nizhum, Shihad Shahriar, Azizul Karim Antor, Mehdi Hasan, Foyez Ahmed Adnan, Noor Mohammad, Jahidul Haque, Iftekhar Ahmed, Mohammad Hasan, Redwan Ahmed, Tariqul Islam, AHM Khaled Reza, Reza RifatAkhlaque, Rashedul Islam, Shohagh Khan, Mashriful Alam, Tamal Samad, Mahmudur Rahman, Mahabubur Rahman Naim, Omar Siam, Iqbal Hasan, Naimur Rahman, Minhazul Islam and Mushfiqur Rahman.
