The Subject Rankings 2024, recently released by the prestigious ranking platform QS, has listed North South University (NSU) in three categories, the NSU said in a press release on Monday.
NSU and the University of Dhaka are jointly placed in the 351-400 band for the Business & Management Studies category. Only these two Bangladeshi universities are included in this category.
NSU’s Business and Management program has been ranked by QS for a good number of years.
In the Computer Science and Information Systems category, NSU is ranked within the 651-700 band, following the University of Dhaka and BUET.
Also, NSU has been ranked in the Economics & Econometrics category for the first time in 2024, placing within the 451-500 band.
The only other university ranked in this subject category is the University of Dhaka.
Notably, NSU is the only private university from Bangladesh ranked in these three subject categories.
This year’s QS Rankings by Subject includes 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas, featuring 1,559 institutions worldwide.
NSU has been consistently ranked in various subject categories over the years.
Professor Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor of NSU, expressed his satisfaction with the results, thanking the support from the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission.
"NSU will continue on its path to achieving even greater glory in the coming years," he said, adding that being ranked in the Economics and Econometrics category for the first time is a testament to NSU's commitment to comprehensive excellence.
