Prof Dr. Kazi Shahidullah has taken charge as the new chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Sunday.
The professor of Dhaka University took over charge from the acting Chairman of UGC Prof. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah as UGC’s 13th Chairman.
The new UGC Chairman said that his main challenge is to ensure quality in higher education and research in the country.
Professor Shahidullah also said his agenda is to run UGC, the statutory apex body of country’s higher education with government rules and regulations.
He urged UGC officials to follow the disciplines and discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity.
The Acting Chairman greeted the newly appointed UGC Chairman on behalf of UGC Members and officials with a bouquet of flower.
