At least five people died after a small plane crashed Wednesday in Las Juntas, a community in the Madero town, in Michoacan state of Mexico, local media reported.
The state prosecutor told reporters that the number of fatalities was a preliminary figure in the crash noting that the incident is still under investigation, reports Xinhua.
The plane was believed to be en route from the Durango State to the port of Acapulco, Guerrero State, Mexican newspaper El Universal reported, citing local public security department.
Video footage shared by Mexican newspaper El Financiero on social media showed that half of the aircraft appeared soaked in a river.
