AFTER the introduction of Uber in Bangladesh people thought it would be a very convenient way to travel inside Dhaka. Most of the CNG-Auto rickshaws and taxis are not charging the appropriate fare and thus the passengers are suffering greatly. Against such a backdrop, Uber brought some changes in our minds. Having said that like any other thing it is not also not free from blemishes. Although it is doing well, it still has some areas for improvement. It is reported that passengers are mostly complaining about the drivers of Uber. In facebook the group called "Uber User of Bangladesh" most people have been reporting that most of the drivers are not found professional. They also do not know the roads of Dhaka very well. Another problem the Uber users are facing is that when they request for a trip there is an amount shown as an approximate cost/fare for the distance. The passenger accepts it, but the amount does not match the actual fare while they reach the destination. There had been a lot of reports like this. An Uber ride is mostly good but sometimes some customers have to face worse rides, mainly due to the condition of the vehicle being below par. Besides,, some Uber users complain about bad air conditioning, uncomfortable seats and also problems regarding the papers. It is also a major issue of concern that passengers are unable to make an insurance claim if they are hurt in an accident while on an Uber ride.
