Road blocks around Mitford Hospital

MITFORD Hospital in old Dhaka is one of the country's most prominent hospitals. Established in 1954, the hospital provides specialised medical treatment to patients. Once built in a sequestered place of Babubazar, many small businesses and private clinics were built gradually around the hospital. The neighbourhood is also notable for various products and services like pharmaceuticals, rice, paper, iron, steel, courier and automobile repairing services.
However, such businesses are creating severe traffic gridlock in the area at daytime, the scenario at night is worse. Businessmen often sit on the footpaths and occupy most of its spaces with their goods, weighing machines, and so on. Courier service vehicles load their goods while standing on roads. Therefore, such a callous attitude gives rise to heavy traffic jams that cause immeasurable trouble for the residents of the area. Every day, the residents face adversities while the sufferings of critical patients are beyond comprehension. Many patients were reported to have died on their way to hospital. As a citizen of Bangladesh, I suggest Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) control the issue with iron hands. Otherwise, the circumstance would become deadlier in near future.
