Eve teasing must be stopped

EVE teasing is a social evil and despite our utmost efforts we are yet to get rid of it. We often read in newspapers about a girl committing suicide due to constant teasing by some young men. The law enforcing agencies are not particularly careful about taking an action on such offenders and over the years a perception has developed in the society as if eve teasing is a minor offence.  
While it is true that some incidents get wide media coverage, most of these are unnoticed and unaddressed. We should change our views on eve-teasing and the law enforcing agencies should come down hard on the offenders so that an example is set to prevent others from committing the mistake. 
Eve teasing impedes women's progress as many parents marry off their daughters for fear of sexual harassment. In the process, girls are deprived of their right to education. Eve teasing also affects girls psychologically and creates a sense of insecurity in their minds. Let us make our society a safe place for the women so that together we can build a better Bangladesh.
