Electricity from sea waves

Electricity from sea waves

ELECTRICITY production in Bangladesh is much below its demand. As demand for power is rising, production should be higher. Many oil-rich countries are showing their interest to produce electricity from solar and/or atom. Due to scarcity of fuels, that is, gas, oil and coal, it is challenging for us to meet the power deficit according to demand. Electricity production in different plants is frequently interrupted due to fuel shortage and as fuel is in short supply, we look for alternatives. The whole world is on the lookout for alternatives to fossil fuels.
In a situation like this sea waves may be considered an alternative source of power. We have the world's longest natural sea beach and it is possible to produce a huge quantity of electricity from sea shore. As experts opine, production cost of electricity from the coastline is less than that from solar light and wind. Costs may be higher initially for setting up the infrastructure and other equipment, but it will decrease gradually. The government may negotiate this option and take necessary steps to meet the chronic deficit of electricity from sea waves.
