Walton to launch desktop PC, other tech products

Walton is set to launch various technology products including desktop computers, monitors, pen drives, memory cards and Wi-Fi routers in the domestic market.

Assembled and manufactured locally, those products might hit the market by end of November, Md Liakat Ali, in-charge of Walton Computer Project, was quoted as saying in a media statement on Friday.

He said the products, at the initial stage, would be assembled at its own plant of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. in Chandra of Gazipur.

Eventually the local electronics giant would go for complete manufacturing here in Bangladesh, which will reduce the production cost and the local consumers would get them at affordable prices, Ali said.

According to him, Walton would release two models of brand desktop PCs which would cost between Tk 20,000 to 30, 000. The Corporate and General desktop PCs include CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

The Walton official also said it will release 22 and 23-inch HD LED monitor at a maximum price of Tk 16,000 with 27-inch monitor to come later.

Walton will also launch pen drive and micro SD card of up to 64 gigabyte which will be 20 per cent speedy than other brands while 40 per cent cost-efficient.

Various models of high speedy Wi-Fi routers are also in the upcoming products list of the local brand.

Several models of Walton brand gaming and general laptops, keyboard and mouse are already available in the market, which were launched with the collaboration of American tech giants Intel and Microsoft.
