The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh recently organised a conference at Chittagong Club putting a thrust on new information and knowledge about the accounting and finance sector for ensuring economic development.
Accounting and finance teachers from different educational institutions of Chattogram division and a good number of top executives working in the corporate sector of the country attended the conference titled 'Educators Conference on Future of Learning - Shaping the Accounting Profession'.
ACCA members, partners and other stakeholders were also present in the conference.
Four papers were presented that focused on new information and knowledge about the accounting and finance sector for the economic development. In addition, technological advancement was also highlighted to ensure more proficiency in professional life. The experts discussed on raising awareness and guidance on various aspects of the accountancy and finance related work.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong Professor Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury was present as the chief guest while the dean of the faculty of business administration Professor Dr. A.F.M. Aowrangazab was present as the special guest.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Md. Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, Head of ACCA Bangladesh congratulated and greeted the guests.
Shun Shing Group Bangladesh Operations CFO and Company Secretary Md. Kausar Alam presented paper on 'Future of Learning' paper while Masud Khan, CEO of Crown Cement, presented another paper on 'Future of Accountancy Profession'.
The other two papers 'New Audit Report' and 'Sustainable Development Goals' were presented by Dr. Md. Salim Uddin, Professor, Department of Accounting, University of Chittagong.
Chairman of the Banking and Insurance Department of the University of Chittagong Dr. Sultan Ahmed and Senior Partner of Hoda Vasi Chowdhury and Co & former president of ICAB Showkat Hossain were present as session chairs.
Besides, Senior Business Development Manager (Learning) of ACCA Shah Waliul Manzoor and Educator Manager of ACCA Prawma Tapashi Khan were present as the session moderators.
