WB, IFC mission holds meeting with DSE

A delegation of a mission, jointly conducted by the World Bank Group and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), held a meeting with the Dhaka Stock Exchange authority.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the delegation discussed about DSE's activities and future plans.

DSE Managing Director AKM Mazedur Rahman discussed the overall situation of the capital market with the delegation.

He described DSE services, impacts of demutualisation through a presentation. 

The WB and the IFC are working to develop stock markets in eight developing countries through the mission.

The mission launched Joint Capital Market Development Programme from June 2017, says a press release.

The meeting was held as part of their series of meetings with stock market related bodies in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE) has met with World Bank Group and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) mission to improve the security market.

Senior Financial Sector Specialist AKM Abdullah, Senior Investment Officer Mira Narayana Swami, Principal Investment Officer Kannagi Ragunathan, Senior Financial Sector Specialist Sui E Aung, Principal Industries Specialist Faruk Sayeed Jafri were in the delegation.

DSE's Chief Regulatory Officer AKM Ziaul Hasan Khan and Chief Financial Officer Abdul Matin Patwary, were present in the meeting, among others.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, ADB representative Financial Sector Specialist Takuya Hoshino held a meeting with DSE authority.
